Beach Rave To Increase Tourism

The third edition of Ghana Summer Beach Rave, an event targeted at tourists visiting Ghana for their summer holidays, is slated for Saturday, August 9, at the Flamestone Beach Resort, Kokrobite, Accra.

According to the organisers, Ticket Ghana, which was recently voted the City People’s Event Organiser of the Year, the beach party is held annually to support the efforts of the Ghana Tourism Authority to delight local and foreign tourists in order to increase tourist visits.

“Tourists who are yet to arrive, or are already in the country should gear up for Ghana Summer Beach Rave 2014 because it will be pure fun and lots of entertainment,” Mr Basil Anthony, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ticket Ghana, said in a press statement.
This year’s event, he said, would include activities like beach soccer and volleyball, musical performances, sizzling barbecues, as well as drinks and cocktails.

“A new side attraction to this year’s programme is the crowning of a bikini queen. This addition, known as Miss Summer Beach Rave, is intended to create a brand ambassador to help in a beach sanitation campaign that Ticket Ghana will embark on later this year,” Mr Anthony pointed out.

He explained that the sanitation campaign formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to sensitise communities along the coast to the need for cleanliness along the beaches and the environment in general.

This, he added, would help to promote beach tourism in the country, as there is a negative perception about the country’s beaches with regards to cleanliness.

Summer Beach Rave 2014 is sponsored by Fiesta Condoms, Mighty Malt, Jack Daniels & XXL Vodka Mix Energy Drink. It is supported by Speak Brands Ghana, KwikSoundz Events Home, Fynergy Events & G3 Event Protection.
