Somotex Ghana Limited, the sole authorized distributor of LG Electronics in the country, has launched Ghana’s first Mosquito repellent air conditioner in Accra.
The new air conditioner, which is specifically designed and built for the African market, uses ultrasonic waves to combat mosquitoes.
Vice President, Somotex Ghana Limited, Pranab Mohanty, addressing the media, said LG’s Mosquito Away air conditioner has been built to withstand Ghana’s current stifling heat and humidity to deliver a powerful cooling performance and superior durability.
He said the successful mosquito away air conditioner comes with all the advantages of LG’s advanced air conditioning technologies such as powerful and rapid cooling and dependable operation in extreme temperatures.
‘We will continue to deliver products that ensure consumer’s comfort while protecting their health,’ Mohanty said.
He said the Mosquito Away could be turned on independently of cooling, which will help to prevent unnecessary energy usage.
‘When strong cooling is needed, the Jet Cool function and the product’s large, efficient fan deliver an increased volume of airflow,’ Mohanty said.
Due to the unstable power supply in Africa, he said LG has implemented the Low Voltage Starter (LVS), which enables the affordably priced Mosquito Away to operate continuously even at lower voltage.
Johnny Jeong, General Manger, LG Electronics-Air Conditioning Division-West Africa Operations, noted that LG’s new Mosquito Away air conditioner delivers true comfort to Ghanaian consumers.
‘It comes with powerful cooling and extreme durability and is more than a match for the country’s challenging weather conditions.
‘We are confident that the Mosquito Away air conditioner will meet the needs of consumers in the Ghanaian and African market,’ he said.
Nii Ayi Hyde, Executive Director of Somotex Ghana Limited, said with the introduction of the all new Mosquito Away air conditioner, LG Electronics has once more demonstrated that it is dedicated to churning out ground-breaking products that addresses the peculiar needs of its teeming consumers.
He said Mosquito Away air conditioner has auto-cleaning function, which prevents bacteria and mold from forming in the heat exchanger.
This, he said, helps to create hygienic and odor-free atmosphere, stating that ‘with the aid of the Triple Filter, it eliminates airborne chemical particles and unpleasant odors for a more pleasant indoor environment.’
