The Success Story of Captain Smart

One of the regning radio personalities in Ghana, Captain Smart, has expressed his profound appreciation to all his listeners for their unflinching support ever since he took on the mantle as the presenter for ‘Dwaso Nsem’ on Adom FM.

Captain Smart, who has been working with Adom FM for a year now, disclosed to the BEATWAVES on Friday that his experience in the field of broadcasting has been very consistent with his style of presentation, making it a remarkable feat chalked in his chosen career.

He revealed, ‘It has been a fulfilling but tortuous journey onto the Accra radio landscape. Many were those who doubted my dexterity and competence in bursting onto the scene and making the needed impact on the lives of the prospective listeners of Ghana’s capital and beyond. But thank God for the mercies that He has bestowed on me, and does continue to show me His mercies in diverse ways in every enterprise that I embark on.’

Gifted with verbal prowess, the silky, baritone voice of Captain Smart was first heard on Adom FM on July 23, 2013 when he first took on the mantle of baton in sitting behind the microphone for the ‘Dwaso Nsem’.

Hitherto, many had thought that Captain would be jerky in his approach, considering the fact that he came to a more competitive market with bigger budgets from advertisers.

Captain Smart has, in the course of his career, developed a rare camaderie and professional rapport with all stakeholders who appear on the show, and as an arts and entertainment critic, he owes his sterling performance and meteoric success to his producers.

His passion for the less-privileged and the marginalised in society is legendary as he has always played an advocacy role for them on radio.

During an interview with BEATWAVES, Captain Smart added, ‘It has not been an easy task for me to have been accepted in the radio industry, and I profusely thank the management and the entire staff of Multimedia for their supports throughout the years that I have been with them.’
