The Okyenhene and President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Pani, will today lead a one-day working visit of chiefs in the region to inspect the deplorable roads in the region.

DAILY GUIDE has gathered that the Okyenhene would inspect the bad road network from Adeiso to Asamankese, Asamankese to Kade, the Suhum-Asamankese road and the horrific Nsawam-Kwafokrom to Apedwa Junction through the Suhum Roundabout, under the abandoned overhead at 11:00am, where he would stop to address pressmen, chiefs and the public who would be waiting for him.

The Okyenhene’s address would detail concerns of some developmental challenges and expectations in the Region. He would in addition petition the President through the Eastern Regional Minister for a collaborative effort with traditional authorities concerning the development of the region.

The Okyenhene would be in the company of eminent chiefs, traditional rulers and some Members of Parliament who hail from the region.

DAILY GUIDE learnt that the Eastern regional caucus in Parliament had indicated their willingness to join the protest since the people in their constituencies are directly affected by the bad roads in the region.

Early report had suggested that the Eastern Regional Police Command wanted to stop the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs from inspecting the deplorable roads and the briefing the media.

But, the Public Relations Officer of the Okyenhene, D.M Ofori Atta, when contacted by DAILY GUIDE, said the Police could not stop the chiefs from protesting against the government, since no court order had asked them to stop; therefore the Chiefs would today express their displeasure about the bad roads.
