You Need To Read How Suspected Kidnapper Turned Madman In Police Custody

Taiwo Ojo, who injured a 10-year-old boy, Moses Idowu, while trying to kidnap him in Oworonshoki area of Lagos State, on July 14, 2014, Monday, has narrowly escaped been lynched by an angry mob.

According to Leadership, the suspect was said to have kidnapped Idowu, who miraculously freed himself. Unfortunately, the boy got hurt in the process.

It was reported that residents of Ayo Odugbesan Street, Oworonshoki, were the ones that rescued the boy from his captor. The victim, who resides at Agbarajesu Street, Oworonshoki, was sent on an errand by his mother at about 8.30pm when the incident occurred.

According to the victim, the suspect hit his head on a culvert, and, in an expression of pains, Idowu screamed. He said it was the scream that drew the attention of the people around, who came to his rescue and swooped on the kidnapper.

It was further gathered that the mob almost lynched the suspect to stupor, but the swift intervention of some police officers attached to the Oworonshoki Police Division came to his aide.

A police source revealed that Ojo reportedly faked madness, while being interrogated by the police in the company of the mob.

DSP Ngozi Braide, the state police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, adding that “the suspected kidnapper was apprehended by people living in the area”.
