Two Nigerians Arrested For Stealing

Stephen Onwandi and Ododire Eberende
Two Nigerians who allegedly stole a huge sum of money from a parked vehicle, have been arrested by the police in Takoradi.

The two suspects, Stephen Onwondi, 28 and Ododire Eberende also called Emeka, 21, claimed to be a footballer and mobile phone dealer, respectively.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE as to how they were arrested, ASP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, Western Regional Police PRO noted that the two Nigerians resided in Accra and that on July 9, 2014, Ododire travelled to Takoradi.

She noted that Ododire went to lodge at a hotel at Apollo near Takoradi and later in the day, the second suspect, Stephen Onwondi, riding a motorbike with the registration number M-13-NR 62 77, joined him at the hotel.

The two Nigerians later used the motorbike to trail one Francis Nyame who had gone for some money from the National Investment Bank to a restaurant in Takoradi.

Mr. Nyame parked his Toyota Sequoia four-wheel drive with registration number AS 5997 Y, leaving a cash of GH ¢ 3,000 in the vehicle. Ododire allegedly used a special metal to open the door of the vehicle and stole the money.

Ododire then attempted to join Stephen Onwandi who was on the motorbike waiting for him.

However, luck eluded them as someone saw what they were doing and raised the alarm leading to the arrest of the two Nigerian nationals.

According to the Regional Police PRO, the two suspects were in custody and would be put before court after investigations.
