Sex Worker Sells Her Newborn Baby For N20,000

A yet to be identified prostitute from Yenagoa metropolis, Bayelsa State, was said to have sold her newborn baby for N20,000 on Monday, 14 July.

According to some sources, a sex worker from Yenagoa, sold her baby to a woman from Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Some people say that the baby was delivered a day before it was handed over to an unknown buyer while others claimed the woman gave birth last week.

The incident was confirmed by spokesman for Bayelsa Police Command, Mr. Alex Akhigbe, who added that the special unit of the Police was sent to recover the baby and arrest the family that bought the child. The case is still under investigation as there’s some links leading the matter to Rivers State.

Meanwhile, the residents of Yenagoa have raised alarm over the rising incidents of robbery and burglary by a criminal syndicate. The syndicate was said to be using a special powder suspected to be ketamine. 

Ketamine is a drug used in medicine, mainly for starting and maintaining general anesthesia, although some use it with criminal intent.
