The headmaster was shot on his right leg, and has been admitted at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital for treatment, while the body of the businessman from Sekondi-Takoradi in the Western Region, Mr. Solomon Ebo-Sam, has been deposited at the same health facility for autopsy.
DAILY GUIDE sources confirmed that two gunmen at dawn on Sunday, stormed the hotel and held hostage the visitors who were lodging there. The night marauders reportedly instructed the receptionist (name withheld) to take them to the rooms where visitors were lodging; and the poor receptionist had no other alternative than to oblige. They allegedly robbed some couples of their wedding rings and jewelries worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
According to the lady receptionist, who spoke to DAILY GUIDE, one of the armed robbers unexpectedly entered the reception holding a torch light which she claimed he threw at her.
According to her, when she asked who that was, the robber got closer to her, pounced on her and tied her mouth with a piece of rag before compelling her to conduct them round.
She indicated that the robbers managed to break the doors while the clients were asleep and robbed them at gunpoint, adding that after they had taken what they wanted, the robbers raped her.
This paper gathered that a team of police personnel surfaced at the hotel after the robbers had escaped.
The Akyem Swedru Police Commander, when contacted by DAILY GUIDE, failed to comment on the matter, saying he was busy at the time and so could not pass any comment.
