The Sultan of Sokoto and president-general, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has accused politicians of being the main cause of Nigeria’s problems.

The Sultan said the cause of the rise in insecurity in the nation is high-power politics ahead of the forthcoming 2015 elections.
According to Leadership report, Alhahi Sa’ad explained that those causing insurgency in Nigeria are not spirits but humans adding that innocent people who know nothing about leadership, enjoy nothing about the government are the ones suffering and paying the price.
Speaking the issue of dialoguing with the insurgents, the Sultan said there is nowhere in the world where the use of force has worked in resolving insurgency.

He said every Nigerian should see himself/herself as a leader whose sole priority should be to ensure peace in the society adding that Nigerians should learn to separate politics from religion.Read more
