Becca Goes Mad Over False Allegations


Award-winning afro pop artiste, Rebecca Acheampong, known in the music scene as Becca, has denied rumours that she had sex with a Black Stars player in Brazil for money.

The songstress was recently in Brazil as part of ambassadors selected by the Sports Ministry to rally support for the Black Stars and raise funds for supporters.

Becca in a statement said she had already instructed her lawyers to take legal action against the people actively involved in tarnishing her hard-earned reputation through false allegations.

She described the allegations as baseless and lack merit and urged her fans to disregard attempts by some individuals to defame her.

‘I have always worked hard to be where I am and have never traded sexual favours to advance in life or in my career. I am ready to devote my time and resource to clear my name, as the damage done to my reputation is immeasurable,’ she said in the statement.

According to her, ‘The closest I came to meeting the Ghana team was watching them from the stands at the stadium when Ghana played the United States.’

In a related development, Becca’s management team had also threatened to sue Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, aka Afia Schwarzenegger for making defamatory statement about Becca on her show.

According to Becca’s management, On July 2, 2014, Afia Schwarzenegger on her prime time TV show on UTV without basis alleged that Becca had had sex with a member of the Ghana football team in exchange for money. Prior to the airing of the said programme, she posted the agenda for the evening’s show and included one topic labelled as ‘sex ambassadors’.
