Nigerian Security Kill Suspected Boko Haram Leader In Kaduna

Nigerian security reportedly killed a Boko Haram suspect on Sunday in the Kinkinau area of Kaduna metropolis.

According to the Nation, the sect member escaped from the troubled Borno State to Kaduna in order to live there.

The gun battle between the insurgent, believed to be one of the dreaded group leaders, and the security lasted for more than one hour. He was killed upon trying to escape.

The shooting, which started around 2:am, caused panic in the area. One of the residents was quoted saying:

“The soldiers and police woke us up with shooting. When we tried to know what was happening they drove us away.”

It has been also learnt that the military had been tracking the suspect for a while.

It would be recalled that in the recent times Kaduna State has become target of several separate attacks launched by unidentified gunmen. Scores of people were reportedly killed and injured.
