Tragedy struck the home of human rights lawyer, Barrister Kunle Fadipe as he was murdered last night in his home at Harmony Estate, near Karaole Estate, College Road in Ifako Ijaiye Local Government Area, Lagos.

He was stabbed to death by a man who invaded his home at about 11:30p.m. His mother in-law, son and daughter were also reportedly stabbed.
According to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity to PM News, the assailant attacked when the estate was plunged into darkness following power outage.

The deceased was said to have sent his son to switch on the electricity generating set and as he came out, the assailant armed with a knife seized him, ordering him to take him to his father. Immediately he was taken to Fadipe, he stabbed him in the neck and back.
One his daughter managed to run out of their apartment to call for help. The security guards in the estate were said to have rushed in, shooting the man on the leg as he tried to struggle with them.
The suspected killer was eventually arrested and taken into police custody.
Though the motive behind the attack is yet unknown, the police said the case would be investigated thoroughly.

According to a woman identified as Mama Bola, who was crying uncontrollably at the residence of the deceased, she is one of those who benefited from the free legal services of the late Fadipe.
She therefore appealed to the authorities to ensure that the perpetrators of the attack are brought to justice speedily.
