Hiplife group VVIP has featured award winning Hollywood actor Idris Elba in the remix of their first single ‘Selfie’.

VVIP, made up of Reggie Rockstone, Joseph Nana Ofori (Prodigal), and Abdul Hamid Ibrahim (Zeal), released the ‘Selfie’ in April after Reggie Rockstone confirmed hisfull time membership of the group.

Reggie Rockstone, tagged as ‘The Godfather’ of hiplife joined the group after Emmanuel Ababio (Promzy) left the music group, which has been in existence for about two decades, in October 2013.

The group dropped the video for the song in May after the song enjoyed heavy rotations on radio and in the clubs across the country.

Reggie Rockstone revealed in an interview with Myjoyonline.com that the remix has been recorded following the huge success chalked by the song since its release.

According to the hiplife ‘Grand papa’ the remix was recorded at Jay So’s studio and the Hollywood star rapped in Creole language. He “brought it home…he did,” Reggie added.

Reggie Rockstone disclosed that they shot a quick music video after the recording. The music video which will be released soon was directed by Idris – who is of a Ghanaian and Sierra Leone descend.

Idris Elba, who has since the recording left the shores of Ghana, was in the country to star in the production entitled, ‘Beasts of No Nation’.

The movie, directed by Cary Funkunaga is adaptation of Uzodinma Iweala’s 2005 novel that takes its title from the 1989 album – ‘Beats of No Nation’ – by late Nigerian Afro beat artiste Fela Ransome Kuti.

The book tells the story of Agu, a child soldier in an unnamed West African country. Elba played the role of a Commandant – the ruthless head of the guerrilla group – that forces Agu to join their ranks.
