Assembly Member Accuses Atiwa DCE

Assembly Member for Akyem Sekyere in the Atiwa District has accused the Municipal chief executive of the area Honourable Emmanuel Atta Twum of neglecting Atiwa East Constituency in terms of developmental projects in the district.

According to him, development in the district has been beneficial to those in Atiwa West and thinks it is unfair to the good people in the constituency.

According to Hon. Boakye, Akyem Sekyere is the second largest community in the district which also contributes to the revenue generation of the district but lacks good access roads which even makes it for students to attend school when it rains, poor drainage system, old life-threatened school buildings for the KG and primary as well as toilet facilities.

He said two KVIP projects which was started since 2008 has also been abandoned leaving residents no option than to use bushes and even sometimes classrooms as places of convenience.

Nana Addo Boakye told the reporter he has raised these issues on the floor of the Assembly several times but yielded no results. He said the people in the coming weeks will advice themselves of what next their action will be if nothing is done about their plea.

Meanwhile the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Atta Twum has denied the allegations but has pledged to do his best for all the people in the district as a whole.
