IFS Financial Services Limited, a  micro-finance institution based in Accra, in collaboration with Wise Water Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), has donated 20 desks to the Nima ‘2’ JHS in Accra.

Kojo Ohene-Kyei, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IFS Financial Services, in a presentation, said his outfit believes in contributing to the transformation of the lives of people in communities in which they operate.

He stated that his outfit provided portable water, organized educational and religious programmes and also donated Learn Support Materials (LSM) to schools.

He further indicated that the financial institution, which has been in existence for almost six years now, believes in the abilities of children, who are the future leaders.

The Director of WiseWater Foundation, Emmanuel Amarquaye, said the donation would help address the challenges of the school.

He said he decided to solicit funding from IFS to help the school after he discovered that the pupils wrote on benches, adding that ‘if this is the situation of a public school in the city, you can imagine what the situation is like in rural areas.

The director urged other benevolent organizations to adopt some of the public basic schools in the country.

Mr. Amarquaye also encouraged the pupils to properly use the furniture and other resources.

The officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES) at the Ayawaso Sub Metro, Adoley Dodoo, commended IFS Financial Services for collaborating with Wise Water Foundation to assist the school.

She called for more support to help address the numerous problems facing the school.
