Adam Kwarasey Needs Encouragement – Coach Sarpong

Head Coach of Ebusua Dwarfs, J.E. Sarpong has lauded Black Stars goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey and urged Coach Kwesi Appiah to have faith in him.

Coach Sarpong says the goalie needs support and encouragement.

“Adam Kwarasey is a fine goalkeeper and needs everybody’s support at the Black Stars,” he said.

“This goalie has shown form in some top matches for the Black Stars and at the world stage like the world cup. He needs the team’s support.”

He said Kwarasey should not be blamed for the goal the Stars conceded against the US in their opening match at the world cup.

“Hold no fault for Kwarasey. Besides, there are equally good saves he made in post for the Black Stars,” he added.

The Norway-based goalie was relegated to the bench in a move many regarded as punishment for his performance in the first match.

Fatau Dauda was picked ahead of Kwarasey in the Stars’ 2-2 draw with Germany.

“The Black Stars team is usually slow starters at most tournaments but remember the team did well against the US,” he concluded.
