A 16-year-old, Olabode Faniyi, was detained by police on suspicion of burglary and theft and appeared in court today, 25 June, Okitipupa, Ondo State.
The accused is standing trial on three counts of felony, burglary and stealing of N10,000 in an Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court in Ondo.
The incident occurred at No. 3, Ogunseun St., Idepe, Okitipupa, around 10.30a.m., on May 18, when the accused and one more criminal burgled the room of Godwin Awuka and stole N10,000 in cash.

The prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi, said the offences contravened sections 516, 411 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr Funsho Akintoye, granted the accused bail in the sum of N10,000 and two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned till July 7 for further hearing.
