One person reportedly lost his life on Monday in an auto crash that occurred around 1: 00 pm at Amawbia in Awka, the Anambra State capital.

This was made known to Daily Independent by Hyginus Omeje, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Amawbia.
He said that several other people sustained various degrees of injuries in the crash which happened opposite the state office of the FRSC.
The sector commander said that the accident involved a commercial bus and a lorry, and explained that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road where he rammed into a Lorry that was parked opposite the FRSC office.
Omeje confirmed that one person died on the spot while the injured victims were taken to the hospital for medical attention.
