Stars Defeat: Deputy Information Minister Declines Comment

Some Ghanaian fans, including government officials, are holding their peace and declining comment on Ghana’s defeat to the USA last Monday.

They are also shying away from predicting Saturday’s game against Germany.

Invariably, they tend to say, “let’s wait after the three matches of the group and take it up from there”.

A deputy Minister of Information, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, was one of those fans who declined comment on the Black Stars defeat and prediction of the subsequent encounter against Germany on Saturday.

Felix Kwakye, who said he had taken time off his holidays to attend the World Cup in Brazil, is based in Natal, just like many others, from where he attended the Stars first match and will be among the throng to watch the crucial second game against the German Machines in Fortaleza on Saturday.

When Graphic Online caught up with him at the Natal Mar Hotel on Wednesday for his views on the first match, he politely said, “not now”.

Pressed as to when it would be ideal to make his views known in the capacity as an ordinary fan, he said “just after all three matches have been played”.

Other officials sighted in Natal included deputy Minister of Education, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, Messrs Cletus Avoka, Moses Asaga and Kobby Acheampong, aside from Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, the Minister of Youth and Sports.
