Chibok: No Foreign Troops In Borno?

Fresh report indicates that foreign troops aimed at rescuing Chibok girls, abducted more than 2 months ago by Boko Haram insurgents, have not been detected in the territory of Borno State.

Sahara reporters journalist has visited several villages and flash points in the state to find only Nigerian army doing routine operations, but no real presence of foreign troops, “contrary to expectations and the exaggerations in the media after the girls were forcefully abducted”.

He made the conclusion after visiting Attagara, Aganjara, Agamanchiya, Ngoshe and Angurva communities and some areas situated close to the neighbouring Cameroon, where some of the kidnapped girls are believed to have been relocated.Ā 

The correspondent spoke with the senior military officer, who confirmed that “at the Cameroon side of its border with Nigeria there are indeed pockets of foreign soldiers working with Camerounian military but there is nothing like foreign troops in Borno State working for the recovery of the abducted girls”.

It would be recalled that numerous countries, including USA, UK and China, reportedly sent soldiers to assist Nigerian military with the find-and-rescue operation. Moreover, US President Barack Obama has recently claimed that the American troops will not leave Nigeria until the Chibok school girls areĀ found.
