Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda has expressed optimism that the menace of the members of the radical Islamist sect, Boko Haram would soon end.

Speaking to newsmen in Gombe, the governor said that the insecurity facing the country’s North-East geo-political zone would end, noting that for the fact that the problem had stayed for too long it’s not a yardstick to say all solution had been exhausted.
Yuguda, who assured that the issue of insurgency, would be resolved at the appropriate time said: “Everything has its own time; efforts are being made by both the states and the Federal Government to address the security problems in the country.
“I assure you that it is just a matter of time; there is time to start something and there is time to end it when it comes to issues that have to do with security challenge.
“Nigeria is not the only nation that has security challenge, but we pray that very soon we see an end to some of these security challenges that we are confronted with, particularly the ones in our zone here, the North-East”, he said.
The Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati Wal-Jihad popularly known as Boko Haram, an Hausa language meaning “Western education is sin”. The terrorist group has its strong hold in the northeastern part of the country, Cameroon and Niger. It has launched several deadly attacks and bombings which have claimed thousands of innocent lives in their quest to Islamise the country and put an end to what they described as westernisation.
The sect is responsible for the abduction of over 234 school girls from GGSS, Chibok, Borno State. Their menace has attracted international communities like France, U.S, China, Israel, Britain among others, whom have volunteered to help the Nigerian Government in wiping them out as well as rescue the kidnapped Chibok girls.
According to Peter Pham, director of the Africa Center at the Atlantic Council, while testifying before a congressional committee on Wednesday, said the terrorist group has recently taken effective control of 10 local government areas in Borno State. Most residents, who successfully fled the area aren’t willing to come back as long as Boko Haram remains there.
