Black Stars head for opening venue in Natal

Ghana will arrive in Natal on Sunday ahead of their opening World Cup group match against the United States, the next day.

The Black Stars face the US at the Estadio das Dunas in Natal on Monday, 16 June, as the Group G campaign begins.

Kwesi Appiah’s squad will leave their camp in Maceio at 09:00am [12:00GMT] for the venue of their opening match.

The team will attend the mandatory pre-match conference with the media later in the day.

Sweden’s Jonas Eriksson has been selected to referee Monday’s game as both sides meet for the third time at the World Cup after previous clashes in 2006 and 2010.

The 40 year-old Swede will be assisted by fellow nationals Mathias Klasenius and Daniel Warnmark.

Tahiti’s Norbert Hauata is the fourth official.
