The return of CR7: Ronaldo completes full training with Portugal

Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo completed a second successive day of training unscathed.

The 29-year-old gave Paulo Bento’s side a boost by sprinting, taking part in a strenuous workout and even arguing with team-mates.

The Real Madrid attacker cut short a training session with Portugal on Thursday, leaving the field with an ice pack over his left knee – suggesting he had not fully recovered from the problem that affected the end of his club season.

However, the 2013 Ballon d’OR winner resumed training with a ball at his feet on Friday morning, playing a full throttle while wearing just a light strap around the affected knee.

Portugal will begin their World Cup campaign against Germany in Salvador on Monday, before they lock horns with the United States in Manaus on June 22 and the Black Stars of Ghana in Brasilia on June 26.
