Ghana To Host First Global PPP Confab

Ghana is expected to play host to the first Global Public Private Partnership (PPP) Conference from 18-21 August 2014 through the partnership of C-NERGY Global Holdings, an investment advisory services firm and the Ministry of Finance & Economic Planning.

The conference which will be under the theme ‘Addressing Ghana’s Infrastructure Deficit: Moving from Policy to Implementation- the Public-Private Partnership Alternative’ seeks to position Ghana as an attractive investment destination for Public Private Partnerships.

Addressing a press conference to launch the event last Wednesday in Accra, the Director of C-NERGY Global Holdings Mr. George Fosu noted that the conference would serve as a catalyst for the implementation of Public-Private Partnerships in Ghana on the back of the broad legislative and institutional framework that has been developed over the last couple of years.

Other objectives of the event are that it will offer international investors and private sector players, direct insight into the infrastructure investment priorities and the economic development vision of Ghana.

According to him, the conference will enable investors to begin strategic conversations with the Government on building mutually beneficial Public-Private development partnerships.

It would also help to provide public officials in Ghana and the ECOWAS sub-region, the opportunity to gain practical knowledge on the formulation and implementation of Public-Private Partnerships in the hope of igniting a proactive wave of proposals and initiatives from related sectors.

It will provide the platform for players to share international experiences with each other and provide useful lessons as guidance to Government to bridge the infrastructure gap.

The conference would discuss mechanics of developing, implementing and managing Public-Private Partnership opportunities based on sector-specific case studies.

Facilitators for the event would include international experts in the field of PPP who are carefully selected by C-NERGY and partners.

Mr George Fosu stated that C-NERGY has a track record of deep and vast experience in the provision of advisory and investment banking services.

‘Our advisory and investment banking practice cover Corporate Finance, Project Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets. Our offering also includes confidential facilitation of business partnerships between developed and emerging markets’, he mentioned.
