Kufour Is Not Sponsoring Any NPP Flagbearer Hopeful To Sabotage Nana Addo – Asa B

Former Information Minister under the erstwhile Kufour administration, Asamoah Boateng, has rubbished claims that Ex-President Kufour wants to sabotage two-time presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party [NPP], Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s ambition to lead the party for the third time.

According to him, reports that the former president is against Nana Addo’s ‘get-up-and-go to be president’ are baseless and malicious.

“Ex-President Kufour is not sponsoring me [Asamoah Boateng] or anyone in the party [NPP] to harm Nana Addo,” he said after picking nomination forms at the hoping to become the NPP’s presidential candidate.

“I spoke to God before picking my nomination form and I have faith. The courage in me makes me a man. No one is sponsoring me for any reason known to man,” he said

Adding that, “Kufour [Ex-president] has served the part [NPP] and Ghana very well; we must respect him and stop dragging his name into disrepute.”

In an interview with Asempa FM, Asa B as he is affectionately called, declared himself as the biblical David to bring down the Goliath in President John Mahama.

“Not by my might but by the Grace and might of the Lord. Most people have said to me is this your place. Can you do this job…then I referred them to David. He [David] wasn’t a fighter….he wasn’t asked to go and fight in the fields when the Philistines were teasing the Israelites.

“…He went out there and knew he could do the job. His elder brother nearly slapped him and told him to go back and look after the sheep. That is where you belong. Most people think I [Asa B] don’t belong here but God in his own wisdom knows what he is about and doing,” he preached.
