Ghana Would Make History At The World Cup—Veep


Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, on Wednesday joined other world leaders at the opening of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, when host nation Brazil beat Croatia 3-1 in the World Cup opener at the Sao Paulo stadium in Brazil.

Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur, who arrived on 11th June in the Brazilian city of São Paulo to represent President John Dramani Mahama at the official opening of the 2014 world Cup between Brazilan and Croatia in Sao Palo.

This was at the invitation of the President of Brazil President Dilma Roouse.

In interview after the match, Mr. Amissah-Arthur, sounding confident said we should wait and see because Ghana would make history and would be able to do something historic that no African country has been able to do in the annals of the World Cup competition.

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur said he was happy that Ghana was participating once again on such a world stage and was optimistic that the Ghanaian team under coach Kwasi Appiah and his technical men would perform and would bring good news to the people Ghana.

His Excellency the Vice President said he is a believer of FIFA fair play and praised Brazil for the preparation put in place so far making the competition a very attractive one.

He said he would on Friday move Natal to deliver a special message from President John Mahama to the Black Star and further interact with them and also boost their morale in camp ahead of their match against the USA which he said he knew very well that Ghana would win the trophy at stake.

Vice President Kwasi Amissah-Arthur, said Ghana would beat the USA and he would personally be at the stadium to watch the Ghana match against the US in a Group G match on Monday in Natal.
