A farmer on Thursday went on trial for allegedly inserting his fingers into the vagina of a sick old woman at Pasoro in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District.
Yaw Obeng, 36, was ordered by the Kumasi Gender-based Violence Court, presided over by Mrs Rita Agyeman-Budu, to be held in prison custody to reappear on Friday.
He is facing a charge of indecent assault.
Police Chief Inspector Philip Yao Bebli said the crime was committed on May 15, at 1000 hours.
The 64-year old victim has been suffering from stroke and was sleeping alone in her room after taking some prescribed drugs, when the accused entered and began the indecent sexual attack.
A witness who chanced upon the incident, raised the alarm, and the accused was arrested and handed over to the police.
