No floodlight: Kotoko’s thanksgiving game against Feyenoord ends abruptly

Asante Kotoko in a way to say thank you, to their fans for being behind them throughout the season organized a friendly match against Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors early on Wednesday before their thanksgiving match, presented all the three trophies (Super Cup,  league trophy and FA Cup) won in the course of the season to the life patron and owner of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace.

The game kicked off around 5:40 pm and thirty five (35) minutes of play was allowed for the first half of the game.

Back from recess only five minutes could be played, because there wasn’t any floodlight to permit play to continue.

The away team had taken the lead against the premier league champions, before this unfortunate incident happened.

Kotoko in a way to  show appreciation to their supporters decided not to collect gate fees and the fans were given chance to take photographs with the trophies won by the club and to also interact with the playing body.
