Legal action: Multi credit meets Kotoko in court today

Asante Kotoko have been summoned once again by the Kumasi High court concerning their case with Multi Credit, a financial institution owned by Kwabena Kesse, a former board member of the club.

The Porcupine Warriors secured loans from Multi Credit during the P.V Obeng’s led board, which Kwabena Kessie served as a member.

The financial institution sued the league champions during the administration of Dr.K.K Sarpong and the High Court ordered Kotoko to give a payment plan or have some of their property like team bus confiscated.

As a result of the court’s ruling,  Kotoko agreed to pay GHC 5,000 after every home game to defray part of the debt.

However since the resignation of Dr. Sarpong as the Executive Chairman of the club, they have refused to abide by the payment plan.

In another development the three months deadline given by the former Executive Chairman for Kotoko to give a payment plan to GHC 49, 000 owed him by the club has ended, but they refused to respond to it, hence his lawyers are planning to sue them.

This is a disturbing news to the double champions, because it will mar their celebration for winning a double of FA Cup and league titles for the very first time in the club’s history.
