2014 World Cup: Ghana coach Appiah wants to avoid injuries in South Korea friendly

Ghana will be hoping to arrive in Brazil with a healthy squad as the Black Stars go into their final warm-up game on Monday in Miami.

The Black Stars will play South Korea at the Sun Life Stadium at 7pm [23:00GMT] to round up their preparations before traveling to the South American nation for the start of the World Cup.

Ghana lost defender Jerry Akaminko to injury in their previous friendly against Holland last month.

Though Appiah is in a positive mood ahead of the game, he is praying against any possible setbacks.

‘We will put up a good team for everyone to enjoy the game. We hope that we don’t get any injuries, both sides, so that we all go to the World Cup with hundred percent fit players,’ Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah said ahead of the friendly with the Koreans.

Appiah has set his sights on the game against the Koreans as he looks at how far his team have progressed after weeks of preparations.

‘The Korea game is our last friendly and it’s important that we look at our team how we play tactically, and the individual roles that we have given to the players, how they perform and lastly we try and make sure that we can get a result.

‘At the end, it’s about how we approach the whole team. Tactically, that’s my main concern,’ Appiah said.
