Ben Crane still clear at stormy TPC Southwind

Crane was through just six holes of his third round when play was suspended in Memphis, Tennessee, with the Oregon native at 13-under overall.

Leading the chase of the runaway leader are two Americans searching for a maiden PGA Tour title, Troy Merritt and Peter Malnati.

Merritt is at nine under, after going two under through seven holes, while Malnati is one under through as many holes to be eight-under overall and outright third.

Colombia’s Camilo Villegas, South Africa’s Retief Goosen and American Billy Horschel are tied for fourth on seven-under overall, with Villegas and Goosen through six holes, while Horschel has 10 to play to complete his round.

Rounding out the top-10 in a tie for seventh are Americans Matt Every, Andrew Svoboda and Brian Harman alongside Swede Carl Pettersson.

They are level on six under, with Every going three under through 12 to climb 14 spots up the leaderboard on Saturday.

Looming ominously on five under is Phil Mickelson, with the 42-time tour winner in a tie for 11th as he hunts his first top-10 finish of the season.

Mickelson is level with Americans JJ Henry and Jason Bohn, England’s Paul Casey and South African Tim Clark.

All 71 players who made the cut are still yet to finish their third rounds.
