Adrian Newey signs extended deal at Red Bull

The 55-year-old has played a leading role in designing the car that has won the last four world championships, and has now been tied down to a long-term deal.

Newey is said to have been the subject of interest from rival team Ferrari, but was quoted by BBC Sport as remaining “committed to Red Bull for the foreseeable future” at the Monaco Grand Prix.

“Red Bull is pleased to confirm that it has extended its successful relationship with Adrian Newey with a new multi-year agreement,” a statement on the team’s official website read.

“As part of this new agreement, Adrian will work on new Red Bull Technology projects, as well as advising and mentoring Infiniti Red Bull Racing as it develops its Formula One cars over the next few seasons.

“The details of the new projects will be announced in due course.”
