The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has categorically denied speculations that it is producing national Democratic Congress (NDC) branded T-shirts for its ‘Ya Ye Den’ demonstration slated for Tuesday, 10 June in Kumasi.
Justin Kodua, the NPP Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer, stated emphatically that organizers of the demonstration intend to express their dissatisfaction with government’s ineptitude devoid of malice.
Kwaku Boahen, the Ashanti Regional NDC Youth Organizer, accused the NPP of clandestinely manufacturing
about 2,000 branded NDC T-shirts for the demonstration against government’s perceive neglect of Ashanti region.
He told Otec FM that the NPP wants to dress some of their members in NDC colours for the demonstration to portray an erroneous impression that faithful of the NDC in the Ashanti region were not satisfied with President Mahama’s performance.
The irate Boahen threatened to send well-built men to crush the demonstrators if the NPP carries out that diabolic plan.
Kodua debunked Kwaku Boahen’s allegations, pointing out that party colours had been banned from Tuesday’s demonstration therefore the NPP could not manufacture NDC branded T-shirts for the big event.
He said the demonstration was geared towards drawing attention to government’s mismanagement of the country’s economy, as well as the energy crisis which has overwhelmed the Mahama administration.
Kodua was of the view that Kwaku Boahen was making those accusations to woo NDC delegates to vote for him during the NDC’s upcoming polls.
He said Kwaku Boahen had failed to perform satisfactorily as NDC youth organizer and that the party’s delegates would vote massively for his contender, Brogya Genfi aka ‘Armani.’
Kwaku Boahen’s days as NDC youth organizer are numbered and he should bow out of the political scene in peace and stop propaganda against the NPP in a desperate attempt to boost his chances in the party elections, he stated.
He encouraged people from all walks of life to take part in the demonstration to protest against the government’s neglect of the of Ashanti region.
