A middle aged man named Mr Blessing Akakporo has been arrested by the police for almost plucking out another man’s eyes because he allegedly slept with his wife about a month ago in Ekiugbo community, Ughelli North Area of Delta State.
According to a source in the community, in April, Mr Akakporo had caught his wife and the victim, pants down in bed.
He was said to have chopped off his wife’s ears while the victim escaped.
On May 30, precisely a month after the incident, Akakporo lured the yet-to-be identified victim to a neighbouring community, where he overpowered him and used an unknown object to try to remove his two eyes.
He then tried to flee the scene but unfortunately for him, the victim’s cry attracted some youths in the community who chased after him and caught him.
He was attacked by the angry youths who stripped him and beat him thoroughly, before handing him over to the police.
Confirming the incident, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, added that the suspect stabbed the victim several times all over his body.
