A sex worker, Blessing Izu was on Monday sentenced by a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court for going around for loitering for prostitution.
The 28-year-old Blessing who has been sentenced on two different occassions before resides at No. 2, Samuel Vincent St., Victoria Island, Lagos.
The Chief Magistrate Abimbola Awogboro sentenced Izu to 420 hours community service after she pleaded guilty for the third time.
The Prosecutor, ASP Chidi Okoye, had told the court that Izu committed the offence on May 30, at 2.30a.m. on Victoria Island.
During the review of facts of the case, Okoye submitted that the accused had earlier been arraigned twice before the court for the same offence.
He said that, on her first arraignment, Izu was sentenced to 100 hours of community service, adding that she was sentenced to three months imprisonment during her second arraignment.
He said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 166(a)(ii) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
