The Giants, who are 7.5 games clear in the West thanks to a 37-20 record, have won five of their past six games.

In Toronto, the Blue Jays recorded back-to-back wins after shutting out the Kansas City Royals 4-0.

Mark Buehrle was the star of the show, pitching eight innings to become baseball’s first 10-game winner this season.

Buehrle allowed six hits and struck out three as the Blue Jays consolidated their position atop the standings in the American League’s East division.
