Lydia A. Yamoah, Principal, Mampong Midwifery and Health Assistants Training School
FIVE STUDENTS of the Midwifery and Health Assistants Training School at Mampong in the Ashanti Region who produced fake results to gain admissions have been dismissed from the school.
Lydia A. Yamoah, Principal of the school, who made the disclosure during the school’s recently held matriculation ceremony stated that discipline is the hallmark of the school.
She announced that 32 students of the school have been demoted by the school’s authorities for non-performance whilst two other students who quarrelled have also been demoted to serve as a deterrent to other students.
The Principal admonished students of the school to be determined, disciplined and learn hard so that they would come out victorious at the end of their studies and contribute their quota towards national growth.
In all, 583 students, picked from diploma, post graduate and health assistants’ clinical departments, were matriculated to officially be part of the school which would mark its 60 years of existence, this year.
Mrs Yamoah announced that with the approval of the school’s board, management had reintroduced mock examinations to test the abilities of the students before their final examination.
The reintroduction of the mock examinations, she explained, was necessitated by the poor results that were being recorded by students of the school during their final examinations.
She announced the series of interventions being undertaken by the school’s management to help address the school’s numerous challenges.
