Aliu Mahama’s Mother’s Final Funeral Held In Tamale

Hundreds of sympathizers from all walks of life, including National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Paul Afoko, 2012 Vice Presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong, Daavi Ama, former National Treasurer, Northern, Upper East and West Regional Chairmen of NPP and other party bigwigs were in attendance.

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Haruna Iddrisu, Northern Regional Minister, Alhaji Muniru Limuna and some Metropolitan Municipal and District Chief Executive (MMDCEs) were also there to commiserate with the bereaved family.

The Chief Imam of the Tamale Central Mosque, who led prayers, later admonished politicians to live in harmony and urged their supporters to emulate them, noting that the supporters usually create problems for the politicians through their violent acts.

According to him, the time has come for politicians to inculcate in their supporters the spirit of development and unity.

He noted that the way in which members of the NDC and NPP conducted themselves at the funeral grounds was worthy and urged them to continue to do so.

The late Hajia Mariama Mahama, aged 92, was blessed with three children- Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Alhaji Zebilla and Hajia Kande.
