Stratcomm Boss Encourages Komenda College Graduates To Do The Impossible


Accra – 31st May, 2014 -Esther A. N. Cobbah, Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Communications Africa Limited (Stratcomm Africa) and CIMG Marketing Woman of the Year was in her home town Komenda in the Central Region on Saturday 31st May, 2014 as the Guest Speaker of the 6th Congregation of Komenda College of Education.

The ceremony was chaired by the Omanhene of Komenda Traditional Area, Nana Kojo Kru II. The Guest of Honour was Prof. Frederick Ocansey, Director, Institute of Education; Universiry of Cape Coast.

Prof. Frederick Ocansey presented the graduating students with Diplomas and encouraged them to make a difference in the world of teaching.

The principal of Komenda College, Ms. Gladys Annan Noonoo congratulated the graduating group. She said ‘Reminiscent of the discipline and hard work of the graduating group, their overall academic performance has been a remarkable improvement over the preceeding groups’ and added ‘I am convinced that you will shine and become worthy ambassadors of Komenda College not only in the village and towns where you will work but to the world at large.’

Through her speech titled, ‘Komenda is where our story is rooted’, Ms. Cobbah insisted that it was God’s Amazing Grace that had enabled her, a girl from Komenda, to go through the various circumstances of her life, including her being able to establish the company Stratcomm Africa, initially working from her study.

‘It is quite fulfilling to reflect on how, from the dream that started on that study table, we now have, after twenty years, a well -established business, Stratcomm Africa, with some fifty employees’ she said.

Ms. Cobbah announced that the Center for Development Intercultural Communication, CEDIC a non- profit affiliate of Stratcomm Africa would be collaborating with Komenda College to undertake a project to inculcate enthusiasm for reading and writing in children in Komenda and the traditional area.

The project is also one of Ms. Cobbah’s initiatives as CIMG Marketing Woman of Year.

Prizes were awarded to deserving students, including two prizes for selfless service that Ms. Cobbah instituted in memory of her late mother, Victoria Adwoa Assawa Cobbah.

She finally encouraged graduants to be guided by the traditional slogan of Komenda which literally translated says, ‘We fetch water in baskets and use thorns as headload support’.

Ms. Cobbah concluded, ‘As the teaching field is beset with challenges, remember you were trained in Komenda and be ready to do the impossible’.

Bishop Nicholas K. Asane, Chairman of the Komenda College Governing Council, formerly opened and closed the congregation.
