Transfer News: Greek giants enter race to sign Ghana star Essien from AC Milan

Greek Super League champions Olympiakos have entered into the race to sign Ghana star midfielder Michael Essien from AC Milan, according to reports in Greece.

The giants tried to sign the 32-year-old prior to his move to the San Siro from Chelsea but the Ghanaian chose to head to Italy.

However, Olympiakos manager Michel has resumed his interest in the dynamic midfielder and believes he can help his domestic and European campaign for next season.

While they maintain their interest in the former Olympique Lyon star, Turkish sides Galatasaray and Besiktas have also reportedly declared their interests in signing him.

Though Essien has not officially spoken about his future at Milan, his agent made comments that suggested he could exit the San Siro at the end of the season.

The future of the man who agreed for Essien’s signing to the Rossoneris – Clarence Seedorf is in doubt and the midfielder doesn’t want to be uncertain about his future.
