Stars Poised To Prove A Point

An Opportunity has presented itself to coach Kwasi Appiah and his 26-man squad to correct the erroneous impression among most soccer fans when they face their netherlands counterparts in their international friendly in rotterdam. Kick

off is 6.30pm.
Many have expressed little faith in the team particularly with its rear department.

However, coach Appiah had expressed hope that his men have what it takes to stand any opposition from now till the Brazil showpiece.

According to the coach, the level of competition in camp as a result of the uncertainty regarding who makes it to Brazil is acting as a good tonic.

‘For now, no player knows his fate for now, and that has created some level of competition in the team, it’s healthy and has raised their confidence level.

‘They still have last four year’s 1-4 defeat to Holland prior to the South Africa World Cup fresh in their minds, and they have purposed to reverse the deficit.

‘The players are aware of how some people back home doubt their ability and there is every indication that they want to prove a point in the two friendlies,’ coach Appiah said.

Their opponents on the other hand with their pride at stake appear equally combat ready for the game though it is a preparatory exercise.
