Chicago Fire midfielder Patrick Nyarko undergoes successful ankle injury


Chicago Fire midfielder Patrick Nyarko underwent a successful procedure to remove a bone spur from his left ankle facing spells on the sidelines.

The 28-year-old went under the knife on Thursday and the surgery performed by Dr. Anand Vora of the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute.

The Ghanaian is currently recovering from a sprained knee that he suffered against Sporting Kansas City on May 18.

Nyarko has scored one goal and tallied two assists in nine matches this season.
