Actress Beverly Afaglo decided to use her birthday, May 28, to ask her friends to promote a new song by her husband, Praye Honeho (Eugene Baah), instead of him and her friends wishing her happy birthday.
A fortnight ago, Eugene, a key member of award-winning music group, Praye, released the new song entitled, ‘Ghana Most Beautiful’ (GMB) featuring, Daddy Opanka.
The song has sparked rumours that he might have split away from his group, though he is yet to make a public statement to that effect.
As a matter of fact, the new song is gradually gaining some public attention as Honeho and his wife are leaving no stone unturned to make the song get the necessary patronage it deserves.
Yesterday as Beverly was celebrating her birthday, she decided to make the song a special birthday offer to her friends instead of making them wish her happy birthday. She asked them to make the song their ring tones as her birthday present.
“Happy birthday to me! In times like this when we hear of deaths every day, the best gift today is life. I can’t thank God enough for keeping me alive, for how far He’s brought me and who I am today…. I ask for a birthday present from you……Please use this song; GMB (http://goo.gl/gSnZov) as your ring tone just for today, afterwards you can delete it. If you are my friend here then you are so dear to me. So on my birthday my wish is your command…This is blackmail I know, God is watching u…So will u…,” she posted on WhatsApp.
The couple, who are both celebrities, tied the nuptial knot some years ago. They have a daughter.
It almost looked like they wanted to strengthen his (Baah’s) musical influence since Praye as a group, seems to be ‘struggling.’
