Paul George stars as Pacers stay alive in Eastern Conference Finals

George posted a game-high 37 points to go with his six rebounds and six steals to lift the Pacers to victory in game five in NBA action on Wednesday.

The Pacers now trail 3-2 in the best-of-seven series, with game six scheduled in Miami on Friday.

“We just played. Our backs are against the wall right now so that’s all we can do,” said George, who scored 31 of his 37 points in the second half at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

“We were in a position that if we lost this game, we’re going home so I think that was in the backs of everybody’s minds.”

David West enjoyed a productive game, scoring 19 points and having nine boards for the Pacers, who overturned an 11-point deficit and withstood a late rally from Miami.

Roy Hibbert (10 points, 13 rebounds) and Lance Stephenson (12 points) also made it into double figures for the Pacers.

Miami trailed by just one point with 16 seconds remaining but could not break through for a series-clinching win as star man LeBron James was restricted to just seven points in 23 minutes.

Chris Bosh was the pick of the Heat players, finishing with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Dwyane Wade had 18 points.

Veteran Ray Allen posted 15 points off the bench for the reigning champions.
