Kwamena Duncan Appeals To NPP Top Hierarchy

Kwamena Duncan, the Central Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has admonished the leadership of the party to maintain discipline among the members.

Kwamena Duncan chided the leadership for overlooking the remarks by certain members and pro-NPP groups regarding the election of a new flagbearer for the party.

Some NPP members have argued that the two-time Presidential candidate for the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, should be allowed to contest the flagbearership unopposed for the third time.

Meanwhile, other leading members of the party have nursed interest in the party’s flagbearership.

Mr. Alan Kyeremateng has indicated that he will contest for the position when the party open nominations.

Contributing to a panel discussion on “Kokrokoo” on Peace FM, Kwamena Duncan charged the party’s rank and file to rise to the occasion and stressed the need for the leaders to call the mushroom groups and the members to order because their statements may mar the fortunes of the NPP.

According to him, should the leaders sit unconcerned about the recent happenings in the party, the NPP may turn into an “Armageddon.”

“It is the duty of the National Leadership to quickly rise up to this occasion and stop what some people have been doing on radio,” he said.
