The Ghana Chapter of Advancing Investment and Trade in Accra, AITA has been launched in Accra with call for greater collaboration between the Private and Public Sector in boosting the country’s economy.

AITA which is a Non Profit International Trade Association based in Washington DC in America seeks to boost trade between Africa and the Diaspora by creating a platform for local businesses and entrepreneurs to meet with prospective business partners across the world.

Speaking at the launch, the Founder and Executive Director of AITA Mrs Adjoa Linzy called on Ghanaians to take advantage of the presence of the Chapter in Ghana to explore business opportunities to increase the economic fortunes of the continent.

According to her, her outfit settled on Ghana due to the bright economic prospects that abounds in the country despite some few challenges.

She explained that the criteria of attaining a Degree and work experience in order to become a member were to ensure members confront challenges and take advantage of business prospect that come their way with ease.

Mrs Linzy said the launch of the Ghana chapter will among other things: connect professionals in Ghana with professionals in the diasporas; play a critical role in disseminating job opportunities in Ghana and Africa as a whole; provide educational opportunities through forums and seminars to Ghanaian professionals and to disseminate current investment and business opportunities to members.

Trade Minister Haruna Iddrissu who was represented by an official at the launch lauded the initiative of AITA and called for more of such collaborations.

He underscored the important role trade Associations such as AITA play in creating job especially for the youth in the country adding that his outfit is ready to partner more of such association in that direction.

AITA which vision is to invest in Africa’s through collaborative partnership with governments, NGO’s Professionals among others currently operates in the United States, Canada, France, Nigeria and Ghana.
