Goodluck Jonathan donates N10m to support surgery of Nollywood filmmaker

Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan has donated ten million Naira (about $61,000) for the surgery of Chike Bryan, president of the Screen Writers Guild of Nigeria.

Chike, who is a scriptwriter, was diagnosed with chronic renal failure in July 2013 and has been undergoing dialysis at Igando General Hospital, Lagos, Nigeria.

He has been seeking funds – 15 million Naira – for an intensive medical care in India.

President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberisima presented the money to the ailing actor Monday, May 26, 2014 at his Ijegun residence in Lagos.

This was after she made known the President’s support at the 2014 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAAs) in Bayelsa State, Nigeria Saturday.

According to her, “the money was given to us by the President (Goodluck Jonathan) to give to him for his operations which should happen soon.” Story by Ghana | Myjoyonline.com | Ernest Dela Aglanu (Twitter: @delaXdela / Instagram: citizendela)
