Au revoir: Serena Williams out of French Open

World Number 1 Serena Williams has been knocked out of the French Open by Gabrine Muguruza.

The defending champion suffered a shocking 6-2, 6-2  loss in round 2 to the 20-year old Spaniard.

This is the latest in a series of shocking results at Roland Garros after Wawrinka and Li Na were kocked out earlier.

“It’s amazing and I didn’t expect to beat Serena. I think I played very good, and I’m very happy.” and elated Muguruza said

“She is an amazing player and I had to be very focused to do it very well.”

Earlier on, sister Venus Williams was eliminated by 19-year old Anna Schmiedlova.
