LG Electronics, global leader and technology innovator in consumer electronics, has unveiled the world’s first largest and slimmest curved Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) TV in Accra.

Featuring a gently curved screen and LG’s own WRGB OLED technology, the curved OLED TV offers exceptional picture quality and an immersive experience.

Its thinness is only 4.3mm and weighs 17 k, accompanied with a crystal stand incorporated in its forward-facing speakers.

Technically, the response speed of the LG OLED TV is over 100 times faster than LED TV, allowing fast moving scenes with completely blur-free, crystal clear pictures.

It is also enhanced with a 4-pixel technology, which makes a difference in terms of picture quality. OLEDs are vastly more energy efficient than plasma TVs.

Pallav Rastogi, Senior Manager Somotex Ghana Ltd, who was speaking at the launch said, ‘With more than five years of research dedicated to developing the optimum curvature, the entire screen surface is equidistant from the viewer’s eyes eliminating the problem of screen-edge visual distortion and loss of detail.’

Nii Ayi Hyde, Executive Director, Somotex Ghana said, ‘Our groundbreaking curved OLED TV marks the beginning of a whole new era in home entertainment.

‘Its IMA-like curvature guarantees an amazingly immersive and comfortable viewing experience.

‘Indeed, it’s a point of pride that we were able to bring the curved OLED TV into the Ghanaian market, and we will continue to expand and improve our industry leading television technology,’ he said.
