Firm Promise: We will make Ghana proud – Gyan

Asamoah Gyan says that though he and his teammates cannot promise the FIFA Word Cup trophy, they can promise that they will give everything to make Ghana proud in Brazil.

The captain of the Black Stars, who will be playing in his third consecutive World Cup, is however confident that Ghana can carry on their rich recent history of holding the torch of Africa at the World Cup.

“It’s too early to talk about the Cup right now,’ the 28-year old told Supersport. “You know, what matters is we are going to Brazil and then making sure we do what we do best and make everybody proud.”

Ghana are drawn in Group D with Germany, the USA and Portugal in the Mundial that kicks off next month.

“We don’t have to put unnecessary pressure on ourselves. We have to go out there, play and enjoy the game and see what comes out of it.”
